![]() I started my journey with the Method in February 2017, about ten months before my fortieth birthday. Nevertheless, I will do my best to explain it and why I love it so. The best way to gain a true understanding of the method is to try it out for yourself. ![]() That’s because it’s so different from most other forms of mainstream exercise. As much as I love to talk about the Method, explaining exactly what it is to other people isn’t easy. If you’re on this metamorphosis journey, too, you can look forward to the accomplished feeling you get when you pop in the 3rd disc of the series– really awesome □ My boyfriend and I were talking last night about weight gain and trying not to care about what the scale says… easier said than done, but I’m vowing not to step on the scale until abcentric is over.If you know me well, you know I adore the Tracy Anderson Method above anything else for exercise. Hopefully this will get easier as the days pass and I’ll be able to work on my form so the only pain I feel is the good kind. I’m having trouble figuring out how to support my neck properly and maintain my balance at the same time. Some of the leg moves have your arms in a contorted position where one arm is straight in front of you (as opposed to perpendicular to you) and the other arm is bent, and then there are 2 moves where you have 1 arm on your back and then move it to your neck. My hamstrings and outer thighs are sore, too, and I’m also experiencing some minor neck pain. I was right– waking up today was brutal! I’m happy about it because it’s the good kind of pain where you know you’re doing something that’s working, but my obliques and hips are really sore. The leg series is about 7 or 8 different exercises (lots of reps… eek!) and there’s one move in particular where you bring your knee into your side and then extend it back… as I was doing it, I knew it would be a source of pain for me this morning. Standing arms are more complicated (which I love, because in Level 6 I really thought they were lacking) and the abs section is challenging but has some newer, fun moves that allow you to feel the burn. I’m sure I say this after the first day of every level, but my LORD am I sore! Level 7 is no joke. Hope everyone’s journey is moving along! Have a nice weekend! That said, any suggestions for sneakers? I think it’s between Nike Shox and Air Max, so please let me know which would get your vote. Money is tight, but I certainly don’t want an injury and don’t want to be unable to do the DC because of pain, so I think this weekend I’ll get new sneakers as a reward for being almost done metamorphosis, and for finally sticking to a workout and making a life change □ ![]() They’re not meant for DC and the support is starting to wear off. I’m almost positive it’s because of my shoes… I used them for running prior to getting into Tracy Anderson’s method, and now I’ve been doing DC with them almost every day for over 3 months. Sadly, I think I’m starting to get a shin splint on my right leg. There’s 1 move in the leg section in particular that is actually pretty fun to do, but I end up feeling the pain in my neck instead of my leg, and I have to pause every now and then to relieve it. The only downside to this level that I hadn’t experienced with prior levels is neck pain. I took a rest day after that to recover, and I have to say that it does get slightly easier after that initial first day. On the first day of the level, once the muscular structure section was done, my legs were shaking and I really have no idea how I made it through the DC without collapsing. In level 9, though, Tracy gets back into standard plank positions, modified side planks, and a really strange move towards the beginning that made my quads burn. In level 8, almost everything was done from your knees and it just felt all wrong to me and made me completely miserable. Abs were fun and different, as usual, but what I like the most about level 9 is that Tracy gives you a break from being on your knees. In level 9, the arms section really feels like it’s working, which is a feeling I didn’t really get from level 8. After having read some pretty terrifying posts on the forum and facebook page about this level, I was really scared to start it, but I have to say I actually like it a million times better than level 8. ![]() I’m a little late with this post but I am FINALLY on level 9! I was a bit of a slacker and missed a few workouts last week, but I’m back on track and am so excited to be getting to the end of metamorphosis.
